This group was extrememly creative and prolific. The techniques we worked with were mono printing (their favorite I think because of the surprise factor). Abit tricky with the amount of water to add to the glass plate to get the desired effects. We collaged found objects and made impressions with sponges, screen and various other materials. I stressed the use of contrast in value when using colors and also the use of the color wheel. An invaluable tool.
Collage, rice, bond paper and paint produce exciting results with my students. I had planned on 2 projects for the 5 hour workshop but they were so focussed and interested in continuing to work on one that we didn`t even begin the second one. The first workshop I gave back in October, 2010 I inundated the students with so many techniques I thought it was too much but reports from students were favourable. There are just so many interesting ways to make marks.
